Ursalia Editions was founded to address a persistent absence in Canadian publishing: the scarcity of durable, carefully prepared editions of foundational Canadian texts.
Many important works remain available only in fragile formats, outdated translations, or editions that do not reflect their cultural importance. Ursalia seeks to return such works to circulation in forms that respect both the text and the reader.
We select works that are integral to Canada’s literary heritage and prepare them with corresponding care. Each volume is conceived as a lasting object—intended to be read attentively, revisited, and preserved.
Ursalia works slowly, publishes selectively, and regards publishing as an act of cultural stewardship.

Our focus is on significant Canadian literary works whose cultural importance is not adequately reflected in their current editions. This includes the preparation of new translations, bilingual presentations, and volumes produced to a materially enduring standard.
